8. James Young

James Young felt a few pops in his hamstring before the Celtics preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers, and still went out there to put up 10 points. There’s a sense of urgency to get him back into uniform and it’s for that reason alone. The kid is talented.

As a Kentucky Wildcat, Young was selected by the Celtics with the No. 17 pick in this year’s draft. He averaged 14.3 points per game and shot 34.9 percent on 3-pointers in his one-and-done college season. Once that hammy is fully healed, the Celtics will look for a shooting contribution from Young as he’ll probably earn valuable minutes off the bench.
