3. Jeff Green

Since his return from surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm, Jeff Green has brought new life to the Celtics small-forward position, and put himself back on the map when most had written him off. Last season he averaged 17.7 points per game, while shooting a career-low 41.2 percent from the field.

As the team’s leading returning scorer Green is currently on the third of a four-year deal that ends with a player option next season. Who knows what Green will elect to do?. His focus has always been on the hardwood. He’s one of those players that are hard to read off the court.

However, a big season for Green could spell searching for help at the wing and a new backcourt mate for guard Avery Bradley.
