1. The Best: Paul Millsap

Paul Millsap stepped up for the Atlanta Hawks big time last season, and left no doubt that he’s the single-best player on the Hawks roster. When Al Horford was sidelined due to injury, the 6-foot-8 Millsap elevated his game to a new level averaging 17.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while even hitting a few buckets from the 3-point line. He was a defensive beast for the Hawks, ranking 10th in steals (1.7) and capturing the 20th position in overall defensive ratings (101.9). Simply put, he was the man.

If Millsap can continue his high level of play from last season, combined with the return of Horford, the Hawks will have one of the better big man tandems in the league. With the Hawks unable to extend his current deal, it’s likely he’ll be their primary focus in the off season. Millsap averaged a career-high 17.9 points, 3.1 assists and 8.5 rebounds. Stats not to be taken lightly.
