The last time a college senior was the first name called across the stage by former commissioner David Stern was Kenyon Martin in the forgettable (other than Jamal Crawford) 2000 NBA Draft.  Since that time, we have seen seven freshmen, three high school seniors, two sophomores and two out of country players cross the stage to open the night.  Before the turn of the century, it was rare to see a one year wonder in the top 10 early draft entries (not that it didn’t happen, just not as frequent).

When one takes into consideration the 2014-15 season and the NCAA seniors in need of big seasons, chances are these gentlemen, who will no doubt play a key role to their respective team’s success, will unfortunately be overlooked when it comes to the June Draft.  Odds are again this summer will see at least seven, one year wonders be handed an official NBA hat before anyone else.  For the following senior players, if luck is on their side, they will find a spot among mid-late first round, if not then the second group of thirty players selected.
