LeBron James may have left the Miami Heat, but that doesn’t mean the Chicago Bulls dislike them any less than before. As Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade will likely tell you, the feeling is mutual.

The question is, what keeps this feud so heated? Two words: Luol Deng.

Deng spent nine full seasons and 23 games in 2013-14 with the Bulls before he was unceremoniously traded the Cleveland Cavaliers. This was the front office’s idea of tanking, but the players took none-too-kindly to the dealing of their teammate and, at times, leader.

Deng fired back at Chicago by doing the unthinkable: signing with the Heat.

James may be gone, but that doesn’t mean this rivalry will lose a single ounce of vigor. Both sides hate one another, and with a former ally now joining the enemy, the Bulls have an even stronger reason to dislike their opponent.

Who’s ready for some more of this?

The regular season can’t come soon enough.
