The Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards have only recently developed bad blood between one another. It’s never been necessarily amicable, but these sides weren’t the nationally recognized feud as they’re becoming today.

This was in a preseason game:

Preseason. The preseason!

This isn’t an isolated incident, nor is it the first time Jimmy Butler has been involved in a scuffle with a Wizards player. This is more of a continuation of a feud which took off during the 2014 NBA Playoffs.

Butler and Nene Hilario came so close to a fight that Joakim Noah had to be the peacemaker.

When Noah’s the cool head who prevails, it’s heated.

The Bulls and Heat will play four times in 2014-15, splitting two games at home and away. This only adds to what has, in a matter of months, become one of the most commonly talked about rising rivalries in the league.

Traditionalists want a deeper-rooted history for the term, “Rivalry,” to exist, but this is a heated feud in every form of the phrase.

They might need some additional security for these games.
