3. Does Blake Griffin continue the leap?
At age 29, Chris Paul is probably as good as he will ever be. That puts the pressure for improving squarely on the shoulders of Blake Griffin, who at 25 is coming off his best, most well-rounded offensive season.
Griffin developed a modicum of a perimeter game last season, hitting 37.2 percent of his attempts from 16 feet out to the three-point line and making a career-best 27.3 percent from three-point range.
Anything Griffin can do to get better on the perimeter makes him tougher to defend and frees up space for him to do what he does best—attack the basket.
Griffin has been one of the most dynamic finishers in the NBA since he arrived on the scene as a rookie in 2010-11, making 74 percent of his shots at the rim in his career.
Continuing to develop his all-around offensive game could propel Griffin solidly into the top five players in the league.
