Three Key Storylines

1. What is the plan at small forward?

The Clippers’ most glaring weakness heading into the season is also the biggest question for the team. Jared Dudley was dealt after one disappointing season in L.A. and the Clippers weren’t able to lure Los Angeles native Paul Pierce home in free agency.

So that leaves the Clippers stuck once again with Matt Barnes, who started 40 games last season.

Of course, adding Danny Granger down the stretch last season didn’t solve any problems at the position, either, but it’s worth at least asking if a team can be considered a true contender when Barnes is your key player at the three.

Second-year man Reggie Bullock could be a potential solution at small forward if he’s able to improve from a lackluster rookie season and free-agent addition Chris Douglas-Roberts went from being on the street to playing a key role in the rotation for a playoff club in Charlotte last season.
