5.) Gerald Henderson

Hendo is the longest-tenured Hornet (Bobcat, really) on Charlotte’s current roster. He is entering his sixth year with the team in a role that he hasn’t been in since the 2010-2011 season — a full-time bench player.

Barring any injuries to either of Charlotte’s starting wings, Henderson will find himself planted firmly on the bench for tipoff. This may not be entirely bad for the former Duke player, though, as he was a bit under-qualified as a starter for a playoff team. His defense and rebounding had always been great for a two-guard, but his inconsistent three-point shooting was an issue for the Cats, especially last season.

He’s strong, and he can create his own shot off the dribble or by posting up. If the Hornets are going to have one “super sub” next year, it’s going to be Henderson.
