Charlotte Hornets: Weekly Power Rankings, Pre-Preseason Edition

8.) Brian Roberts
Roberts only has two years of experience under his belt, but he is really one of the league’s upper-tier backup point guards. Capable of starting or coming off the pine, the 28-year-old guard is a good scorer and passer, and one of the best free throw shooters in the NBA.
Last year, for the New Orleans Pelicans, Roberts averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 assists in 23.2 minutes per game. He started 42 out of the 72 games he appeared in, thanks to a leg injury to Jrue Holiday. Roberts showed the ability to run an offense, which is an invaluable skill for a pass-heavy offense like Charlotte’s. He could prove to be one of the best signings of the offseason.
