Eric Bledsoe was recently awarded the contract of his lifetime, as the Phoenix Suns granted him with a new five-year, $70 million deal to stay put in the desert.

As you could imagine, the reactions were mixed, and included extremes on both ends of the argument.  Bledsoe’s agent, Rich Paul, just happens to be the same agent that helped LeBron James through his 2014 free agency frenzy, and there’s a lot of folks out there that believe Paul and Bledsoe were asking for incredibly too much cash.

It’s probably justified, since Bledsoe hasn’t given us anything but flashes of his excellence, since he was only on the court for the Suns for 43 games last season — the halfway mark is 41 games.

The news didn’t stop there for the Suns, as they quickly looked in the direction of Slovenia (again) to lock-up Zoran Dragic for two seasons.  Have you heard that name before?  Of course you have.

Dragic is the younger brother of Phoenix’s current combo guard, Goran Dragic, who just had a breakout season in which he collected the Most Improved Player of the Year award.

Today on the Hard Screens Podcast, HoopsHabit’s own Gerald Bourguet joins the conversation for a brief take on both situations.  He currently resides in Arizona, thus he’ll definitely have a close look at how Bledsoe’s contract should be graded, and how much optimism should come with the Zoran Dragic signing.

Enjoy the show, and don’t get smashed by those hard screens on the way out:
