Youth and Inexperience

If there’s one thing that Alonzo Gee offers an NBA team, it’s professional knowledge and experience. Gee has been in the NBA for six seasons, and knows exactly how to roll with the punches in the world’s most competitive basketball league. In many ways, that’s what this current Sacramento group lacks. Not only are they a team filled with youth, but they have a roster filled with players with little experience of competing for position late in the season.

Nowhere does this seem more relevant than on the wings, where Gee could have slotted in. The Kings are putting a lot of faith in their young and inexperienced duo of Nik Stauskas and Ben McLemore. They don’t have enough depth at those positions to allow either of those guys much of a period to bed in, and as a result they will be heavily involved in the rotations from the opening night onwards.
