Heading into a season with a brand new coaching staff, and a bunch of brand new players, there’s only so much you can expect to know about a team heading into the first practices of the preseason. Byron Scott divulged quite a bit of info in a recent interview, including his offensive ideas and his starting lineup, or at least his current one.

Scott will run a variation of the Princeton offense, something we figured would happen, so it should be more similar to the triangle. This will help Kobe Bryant, at least from a leadership standpoint because he can related more to that offense than any other currently in the league.

The starting lineup that Scott has in mind is currently Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Wesley Johnson, Carlos Boozer, and Jordan Hill. With this lineup going forward, it’s more clear to see how the bench will come together if they are to become a key piece to this club from the outset.

We now have a fairly good idea of what we can expect when the Los Angeles Lakers take the court for the first time this preseason, and a little better picture of what we can expect once the ball finally drops on the regular season in October.
