Phoenix Suns: Breaking Down Bogdan Bogdanovic’s FIBA Play
Bogdan Bogdanovic Has A Bright Future
Bogdanovic didn’t shoot the ball particularly well against Team USA in the gold medal game, racking up 15 points on 5-of-17 shooting. But anyone who watched this team’s run to the FIBA final saw the NBA potential in Serbia’s spark plug off the bench. It’s no coincidence Bogdanovic has signed on to play with Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce Ulker next season, and coming off a Euroleague Rising Star and a Serbian League Finals MVP award, the future is bright.
With the 27th selection in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Suns went with a draft-and-stash pick. And though Bogdanovic and his fun name will fade from the spotlight once the 2014-15 season starts, Suns fans should feel encouraged by what they saw from their young Serbian in the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
If you’re still not convinced, consider the high praise Double Bogdan received from one of his veteran teammates below. That’s a pretty serious statement considering Serbian basketball has produced players like Toni Kukoc, Vlade Divac, and Peja Stojakovic.
