Anthony Davis

Like pretty much every player on Team USA’s roster, Anthony Davis didn’t have a bad tournament. He averaged 12.3 points, 6.6 rebounds a team-leading 2.1 blocks per game. But after tearing it up in the FIBA exhibition games and group stage, the Unibrow’s production kind of tailed off. That tends to happen when your team goes up by 30 and you’re no longer needed in the second half, but still.

Davis didn’t lead Team USA like everyone thought he would, but then again, he didn’t really need to. Kyrie Irving was great in flashes, James Harden was a consistent scorer, Faried was a regular presence on the glass and Davis defended the rim with the best of them, accumulating the third-most blocks of the tournament.

The New Orleans Pelicans should feel good about their young franchise player, however. Davis never needed to have a standout tournament for that to be the case, and now that the Brow has yet another achievement under his belt, the Pellies have to feel good about where his career trajectory is heading.
