FIBA World Cup: What We Learned About Each Player On Team USA’s Roster
DeMar DeRozan
The fact that DeMar DeRozan even made the final 12-man roster speaks volumes both about how impressive he was in practice with Team USA and about how far he’s come since he first entered the league. Coming off a season in which he averaged 23-4-4 with the Toronto Raptors and earned an All-Star spot, DeRozan has come a long way from just being an athlete when he first entered the league.
DeRozan wasn’t really needed to play big minutes in the FIBA World Cup, but he had a couple of patented high-flying jams in garbage time to liven things up a bit. The experience was probably a good one for DeRozan, who still badly needs to develop a three-point shot to take the next step with his game.
