On the face of it, there’s not a lot to be happy about in Beantown. The Celtics won a measly 25 games last year, tied for the fourth-worst record in the league. After winning it all in 2008 and enjoying four years of being in the mix as as Finals contenders, Boston went from a team with three future Hall Of Famers to scuffling along with
Paul Pressey‘s runt of a son getting minutes.
Fans of teams take pride where they can, though. We Celtic fans can look at the vomit-pile that was the Lakers or how Milwaukee paid O.J. Mayo and Ersan Ilyasova a combined $15.9 million for less than 23 points, 40 percent shooting, and 33.8 3-point shooting and say, “I’m glad that’s not MY team.”
Another point of Celtic Pride? Rajon Rondo is still here and he’s still a top-10 point guard. While his 2013-14 season was nothing to write home about, the casual fan’s short memory doesn’t seem to fully grasp how flat out amazing Rondo can be. While sharing the court with three legendary teammates and battling elites like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, there’ve been times when Rondo was the best player in the building.
Don’t believe me? Let’s take a look at some of the more impressive games on his resume.
