Phoenix Suns: The Pros And Cons Of Signing Zoran Dragic
Verdict: DRAGON BALL Z
At the end of the day, the prospect of pairing Goran Dragic and Zoran Dragic is too fun to pass up. The Suns still have two open roster spots and are about $18.7 million under the salary cap, so it’s not like they couldn’t afford him. Even if it’s just a move to ensure Goran’s future remains in Phoenix after the 2014-15 season, wouldn’t that alone be worth it?
And that’s before you consider that signing Zoran for that singular purpose would be the worst-case scenario. Best-case scenario, Zoran learns from his brother and Hornacek and becomes a productive bench contributor who thrives in limited minutes with Goran, a player he’s used to playing with. With Bledsoe possibly on his way out soon, suddenly this idea doesn’t sound so crazy anymore.
Plus, like I mentioned already: Gogi and Zoki. Double Dragons. Dragon Ball Z. Goran and Zoran. Double Dragic. Dragic Magic. The nickname possibilities are endless. And while Phoenix Suns spend the next few weeks fantasizing about uniting Zoran and Goran in the Valley of the Sun, I’m sure we’ll be able to think of plenty more.
