5.) He’ll be cheap

The Boston Celtics aren’t quite at Philadelphia’s level, but since Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were traded to Brooklyn, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge has been all about stockpiling assets. Now, especially with Rajon Rondo reportedly requesting a trade, Ainge is committed to a full-blown rebuild, and seems to be much more interested in grouping young and unpolished talent than keeping his veterans around.

Ainge has reportedly been shopping Jeff Green since last summer, and it probably wouldn’t cost the Hornets too much to pick him up. The Celtics would likely be happy with a second rounder, one of the Hornets expiring deals (Bismack Byombo or Gary Neal) and P.J. Hairston.

A third team would need to be involved to facilitate, as the Hornets can’t absorb all of Green’s $9.2 million deal, but the bottom line is that the price tag wouldn’t be too high for Charlotte, especially considering Green’s talent.
