Brock Motum

The newly acquired Jazz fared much better than his teammate last night. The Utah Jazz rookie started well coming off the bench, providing the Australians with a spark when they needed it the most.

Motum’s stat line reads: 8 points on 60 percent shooting, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 4 personal fouls in 18 minutes.

He scored well in the post against bigger opponents, using his agility to his advantage. He looked comfortable receiving the ball in the post and was a useful post threat for the Australians. Jazz fans tuning in to see Exum dominate would have been surprised to see their rookie center put in a good performance.

Motum and Cameron Bairstow (another NBA rookie) will be splitting up the backup minutes at center. Bairstow only played four minutes last night, especially after Motum’s impressive first few minutes.
