San Antonio Spurs – Oct. 22

What better way is there to test your readiness for the new season, than by finishing your series of exhibition games on the road against the defending champions? Well, that’s exactly what Atlanta does as they face the Spurs, the team that acts as the blueprint for every move the Hawks front office makes.

The game will mark yet another opportunity for coach Budenholzer to catch up with his mentor, Gregg Popovich, and he’ll be desperate to impress.

The Hawks lost both of their games against San Antonio last year, including one to a heartbreaking Tim Duncan game-winner. The Hawks will get the perfect chance to test just how fluid their offense is coming into the new season, as they face up against the best in the league at keeping the ball moving.

After this one, Hawks fans should have a pretty good sense of what lies ahead for them this season.
