SF – Rudy Gay

One of two Kings players currently away with the USA Basketball squad in preparation for the FIBA World Cup, there’s no feasible circumstances where a healthy Rudy Gay doesn’t start for Sacramento. Last season, the Kings had a nice little triumvirate of scoring with Thomas, Cousins and Gay all averaging over 20 points per game. With Thomas now gone, Gay could well be needed to up his game and become even more dominant though.

That shouldn’t be too difficult for Gay, a natural scorer, whose first instinct is always to shoot, sometimes to a fault. Although Cousins’ larger than life personality makes him a leader well beyond his years, Gay is still going to be the most experienced of the Kings’ starters, and it will be his job to keep things on an even keel during games.
