Re-Sign Him

In theory, this is probably the simplest solution, but how can the Hawks make it work practically? The Hawks are a team often associated with mediocrity around the league, due to their failure to get past the second round of the playoffs.

As a result, the goal of the Hawks management at the moment seems to be all about remaining both competitive and flexible.

If Millsap is to look for more money to re-sign in Atlanta, the Hawks could well lose a chunk of that flexibility, so the big question is, just how competitive can their current squad be? Although very few people are talking about them, with everyone healthy, there’s no reason the Hawks shouldn’t be able to make a big push in the East.

The problem is, if the Hawks want to keep Millsap, they should probably sign him sooner rather than later. The luxury of “wait and see may” not be available.
