Just as is the case with Eric Bledsoe, it’s hard to understand quite why Greg Monroe has been left behind in the rat race this summer. Perhaps, too many teams had their eyes on landing LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, leading them to miss out on landing other top level talent, as their circumstances have changed.

One thing is for sure, Monroe will be in the mind of many front offices around the league over the next 12 months, and it will be in his interest to perform. That could be a good thing for the Pistons during the season, but is likely to ultimately lead to the two sides parting ways down the line.

This qualifying offer seems like the type of deal that’s going to leave one side with serious regrets after a few years have passed, at the moment, it’s just not quite clear who that will be though.
