Team USA selections are always going to cause discussion and disagreement. Every fanbase wants to feel their team, and their players, are getting the recognition and kudos they deserve, and as a result, many people tend to take USA Basketball snubs very seriously.

Rudy Gay was not necessarily the next best available player for selection, but he is a player who will fit in seamlessly with the team’s philosophies. The big winner in all of this is the Sacramento Kings franchise and fans though.

They haven’t had much to cheer about in recent years, but the prospect of Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins potentially leading America to glory must be something they can get behind.
