D.J. Augustin is by no means the signing to reinvent the wheel in Detroit, but he’s a positive acquisition who should offer the team an improvement at his position. With Brandon Jennings ahead of him, Augustin is unlikely to see 30 plus minutes a night like he did in Chicago, but he can still make an impact.

The 26-year-old has done his fair share of bouncing around the Eastern Conference, and you’d expect him to be driven to prove that last season wasn’t just a once off. Whether that’s the case or not, only time will tell, but at least the signs are positive for Augustin.
