Readiness

When a player can excel coming off the bench, without missing a beat, it always says a lot about their character. Augustin has been an NBA starter, he started all 82 games in 2010-11, but if he is required to come off the bench it’s no problem for him, and his production doesn’t seem to waver at all.

Then, on the flip side, if the Pistons were to suffer an injury to Brandon Jennings, they know that Augustin gives them a guy capable of carrying the reins in his absence. It sounds simple, but not many players in the NBA can keep consistent levels of performance up irrespective of their role, and that readiness to perform is a massive positive for Augustin.
