Skills
Any player who ends up being one of the standout performers in a NCAA Division I program, is used to being better than much of the competition throughout their life. The shock always comes at the professional level, when the quality ratchets up again, and even fewer numbers make it through. The professional game, whether in the NBA or Europe, represents the best of the best from around the world.
Patterson is considered a good all-round wing player coming out of his time as a Pittsburgh Panther, but against professional competition his weaknesses will be shown up much quicker, and he’ll learn what he needs to improve on. Patterson might have looked like a top class “Three-and-D” guy during his time in college, but can he cut it as a pro? Only time will tell.
