Yes, Meeks just received a lucrative contract from the Detroit Pistons that many have dubbed the worst signing of the 2014 offseason. I’m not in that boat — as a matter of fact, I think if the Pistons and new head coach Stan Van Gundy can move the ball better, Meeks is going to be a helluva addition.

Think about what he did with the lowly Los Angeles Lakers last year. Do you think he was getting a lot of easy shots with that motley crue of a lineup? Was Kendall Marshall doing a great job of drawing the defense or did Meeks simply play under-the-radar and put up significant numbers? It was a bit of both, really.

I see Meeks duplicating these numbers as no matter how dysfunctional the Pistons are, they’ve got Brandon Jennings, Josh Smith, Greg Monroe (if he re-signs) and Andre Drummond to draw the defense. Now if they’ll pass…
