The signing of Mike Scott is a great deal for both parties. Scott finally gets paid following two years on cheap second-round pick contracts, while also staying with a franchise that has helped him to thrive, while for the Hawks, they continue to look deeper with every move they make.

Scott is the type of player it’s hard not to root for. After entering the NBA as a second-round pick, he has worked incredibly hard, and that work ethic and jovial demeanor has seen him through spells in the D-League, to becoming a genuine NBA role player. With some long term security behind him, and a place he can call home, look for Scott to take another big leap forward in the coming season.
