Shot-Blocking

The 22-year-old has all the potential to be an elite shot blocking power forward in the NBA. His tenacity, and awareness to influence shots was one of the primary factors that led to Moreland’s place in the NBA, and the Kings will be looking to see more of the same from him as a pro.

In his final season at Oregon State, Moreland averaged two blocks per game in an average of 29 minutes of play. He managed to carry this over into his NBA audition with the Kings Summer League squad too, averaging 2.7 blocks in only 19.2 minutes per game. It’s rare to have 6’9″ guys that can block shots as well as that, so if he can translate that part of his game to the NBA, there’s a definite place for Moreland in the league.
