9. Deandre Mathieu – Senior Minnesota Golden Gophers

After transferring from Central Arizona to Minnesota, Mathieu fit right in with new head coach Richard Pitino. The result was an immediate impact on the Big Ten.  Deandre ranked fourth in the entire conference in assists per game.

That, along with scoring in double figures, shows he is very capable of running the offense.  After a season of adjusting to better competition, he should do fine with Andre Hollins running a solid Gopher team. Mathieu could build off of this to an All Big-Ten Honorable Mention.
