Detroit Pistons — Jodie Meeks

SAY WHAT?!?!? Did the Pistons pay Meeks more than he’s likely worth? Yes. Will you see Meeks at the top of the “most overpaid free agents of 2014” lists for years to come? Probably. Here’s the kicker, though — Meeks put together a very solid season for a bad team in Los Angeles last season. The Pistons need quality outside shooting to open the lane up a bit for Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond.

Meeks shot 46.3 percent from the field, 40.1 percent from the 3-point line and 85.7 percent from the foul stripe. He even added in 1.4 steals per game to go with his 15.7 points. He can be counted on, he’s relatively durable and the Pistons are going to be happy with acquiring him. Next step…jettison Josh Smith. Good luck with that.
