Value

Despite a potentially lucrative offer from Russia, like most NBA players, Scott’s inclination is more likely to be a willingness to take less money to stay in the NBA. It would be surprising to see Scott command more than somewhere around the $3 million range in the NBA, but it might just take a little bit more to ensure that Atlanta wouldn’t match.

When put up against the Greg Monroe situation, the Pistons may well be faced with the decision of giving Monroe the max, and sticking with a core that struggled to play together last year, or spreading their money across two or three guys. The second option would undoubtedly make them deeper, but it’s still tough to call which is the right move.
