Cody Zeller: Creating Offensively
Fans hated Cody Zeller from the moment he was drafted, and last season was a good indication as to why.
Zeller really struggled against opposing centers with size, and he seemingly lost his ability to finish at the rim once he suited up with the Cats. In transition, he was a good option to run with the guards, but in halfcourt sets, he looked clumsy and out of place.
His post game was nearly nonexistent, he had problems facing up against wider bigs, and his lack of a reliable jumpshot really hindered his offensive abilities. Zeller shot just 42.6 percent from the field and scored 6.0 points per game while playing 17.3 minutes a contest. With Josh McRoberts‘ departure to Miami, Zeller is going to be called upon to step up and fill the void at power forward. In order to be successful in a larger role, he is going to have to ensure that he is more involved in the offense than he was this past season.
