Leadership

Atlanta’s roster is packed with young players. Dennis Schröder, Shelvin Mack, Kent Bazemore, Mike Muscala and John Jenkins are all 25 or younger, not to mention the as yet unsigned draft picks of Adreian Payne, Lamar Patterson and Walter Tavares. Guys like Al Horford, Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver have veteran experience, but there’s probably still room for a more vocal leader in the locker room.

As I alluded to earlier, Elton Brand was the guy who filled that role in Atlanta last year. Brand led by example doing whatever was required of him, both on and off the court. Marion’s personality, playing style and glittering playing career would allow him to instantly gain the respect of the team, and help him to mold some of the young talent on the roster too.
