Although many will worry about the prospect of the team’s franchise center playing more games before heading into the new season, the World Cup should do a lot of good for Andre Drummond and the Pistons. He’s still young enough that his body should have no problem coping with the extra load, while more importantly he’s still learning, and learning experiences don’t get much better than this.

Even if Drummond isn’t the guy to light up the tournament and only plays limited minutes, the experience, and the work that he will have done beyond the signs could have an astronomical impact on his game going forward. Pistons fans should be hoping Drummond gets to show his talents on the world stage, and as their first representative since Tayshaun Prince in 2008, that he does the city and franchise proud.
