Three-Point Shooting

For anyone who didn’t know that Stan van Gundy has a type, free agency should have set the record straight pretty swiftly. Four of Detroit’s five signings so far have been 3-point shooters, and that makes perfect sense within Van Gundy’s system, and filling the Pistons needs.

Van Gundy loves to build his team around a quality big man who is surrounded by shooters, and now Andre Drummond has got his supporting cast. The Pistons ranked only 29th in the NBA in 3-point percentage last season so signing Butler, Augustin, Jodie Meeks and Cartier Martin should lead to a marked improvement.
