2) Al Jefferson Is A Game-Changer

His defense is subpar – we all know that. He isn’t much of an athlete and doesn’t run the floor well either – we all know that too. He has troubles with injuries – we all know it.

But boy, can Al Jefferson score.

To the tune of 21.8 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, Jefferson terrorized centers from every NBA city, and was without a doubt the X-Factor for Charlotte. In wins, he averaged 25.0 points per game, while in losses, that number dropped to 18.4. The offense lives and dies by the hand of Big Al, and his success and that of the team go hand in hand.

Initially, $41 million over three seasons seemed absurd. It’s now become clear, after a season of All-NBA level play, that what Jefferson brings to this club is priceless.
