Gray is not the type of player whose presence is going to transform the Pistons entirely, but he looks to be yet another shrewd signing from Stan Van Gundy. In his new dual coach/executive role, Van Gundy seems determined on building up some genuine depth for the Pistons, which is undoubtedly something they’ve lacked in recent years.

No longer should Pistons fans have to watch the undersized Josh Harrellson cover at center, as the new Detroit management look set on building a squad, as opposed to just a starting five.
