Yesterday, Twitter was all, well, atwitter with free agency rumors surrounding Pau Gasol. With a number of suitors lining up for the two-time NBA champion, the veteran Spaniard has plenty of options to choose from. After averaging 17.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Gasol no longer has to endure the constant rumors about being on the trade block.

Neither party has ruled out a return to LA for Gasol, but that hasn’t stopped him from setting up meetings with interested teams that could offer him a much better shot at a title if he’s willing to sacrifice a little money. Gasol more than likely wouldn’t mind suiting up in purple and gold again next season, but since he has so many superior options available to him, let’s take a look at the top five free agency destinations for Pau Gasol.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This list is based not only on fit, but also on the likelihood of the match actually happening. Obviously Gasol joining a Miami Heat lineup of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh would be amazing, but the chances of that happening are about the same as Lance Stephenson not being overpaid next season.
