OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER

The Thunder had been shopping around for a veteran point guard to back up Russell Westbrook and ended up settling for Reggie Jackson and Derek Fisher. The opportunity to add a proven point guard to this NBA Finals-ready roster would be a major score for them, especially considering their window is closing awfully fast (making the assumption one of Kevin Durant and Westbook take off).

If there’s one major issue I see here, it’s the issue of playing Nelson and Westbrook together in the backcourt. Westbrook is very good at getting into the passing lanes and getting into the open court, but he’s not a stopper by any means. Having Nelson and Westbrook playing next to each other will leave them extremely vulnerable to penetration, which will provide a bevy of open shots by teams who can move the ball well (see: Spurs, San Antonio).
