2011

Jan Vesely, sixth overall

Impact guys taken after No. 6: Kemba Walker, Kawhi Leonard, Klay Thompson, Morris Twins

Chris Singleton, 18th overall

Impact guys taken after No. 18: Kenneth Faried, Jimmy Butler, Isaiah Thomas

Shelvin Mack, 34th overall

This one hurts. Vesely and Singleton are just not NBA players, by any means. Mack is the best of the three and he is having his best years while he is not in Washington.

The Wizards chased Vesely, an unknown athletic freak, and completely whiffed. The Wizards took Singleton to be a top-notch defender, which he has not been and if you can’t shoot better than 38 percent from the floor, well, you’re going to be out the league soon, which may be the case for both Vesely and Singleton.

Another chance to take the next step as a franchise with three good picks and the Wizards struck out.
