2005

Andray Blatche, 49th overall

Impact guys taken after No. 49: Marcin Gortat

While Blatche was by no means a fan favorite in D.C., getting a player like him with the 49th pick is actually relatively good compared to other drafts. In the last 10 years, only two players (Marc Gasol and Paul Millsap) who were picked in the second round have made an All-Star team.

Blatche has the 14th-most career points of anyone selected in the 2005 draft. So getting Blatche at No. 49 doesn’t look too bad on paper. However, you add his laziness, lack of effort, and the large contract the Wizards gave him, he might not have been totally worth it.
