Los Angeles Clippers: Draft Prospect – K.J. McDaniels
By Adam McGee
Defense
At the Draft Combine, McDaniels was measured with a wingspan of just less than 7 feet. This is a particular asset on the defensive end of the floor. With his long arms, McDaniels does a great job of reading the passing lanes, and having averaged 1.1 steals per game last year, he has room to develop further in that regard as a pro.
McDaniels’ length makes him a great on-ball defender, and allows him to comfortably challenge the shot of most opposing wing players. On the defensive end, the Alabama native has all the tools to excel in the NBA, and his defensive skills will likely give him more of an opportunity to slot in straight away as a professional.
