1. Darko Milicic

Darko Milicic is not just the most famous Pistons draft bust, but one of the most famous in NBA history. Taken with the second pick of the loaded 2003 draft, Milicic was accompanied by LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade to complete the top five.

Milicic spent three years as a Piston, including being a backup on Detroit’s 2004 championship winning team. In his time with the Pistons, Milicic never averaged more than seven minutes per game, which is a truly astonishing stat for a second overall pick.

Although Milicic had greater chances to play after moving away from the Motor City, he never managed to average double digits in points or rebounds during the remainder of his career. He filled out NBA rotations for a further seven seasons after leaving Detroit, but the shadow of the second overall pick always loomed large over Milicic.
