Atlanta Hawks: Best Draft Picks Of The Last 20 Years
By Adam McGee
Jeff Teague
Jeff Teague loves the playoffs, and is coming off a particularly impressive postseason series this year. When he was picked with the 19th pick of the 2009 draft, Teague was a bit of a project, but with the Hawks in need of a long term point guard, he was the right fit.
With Mike Bibby the starting point guard for the Hawks at that time, Teague found his minutes restricted, as Mike Woodson showed a reluctance to turn to his young point guard. Teague got his chance under Larry Drew in the 2011 playoffs against the Chicago Bulls though, and he made the position his own.
Since that series, Teague has continued to grow and grow. At 26, he’s already one of the veteran players in a young Hawks squad, and shows no fear of taking responsibility at the biggest moments. Teague’s career to date has been impressive, but what’s still to come could be even better.
