No. 5 Best Draft Class

Year: 1998

All-Stars: 5 (Vince Carter, Antawn Jamison, Rashard Lewis, Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce)

Steal of the Draft: Rashard Lewis at No. 32

Biggest Bust: Michael Olowokandi at No. 1

Ah yes, the Kandi Man … can’t. Some might disagree that this draft belongs here, but how can you disagree with what will likely be three Hall of Famers? Nowitzki is probably the best shooting power forward to ever play, Pierce is one of the most clutch players in the game and a statistical success and Carter is no slouch either.

Many remember Carter as the dunker, but he’s been a terrific scorer and an underrated rebounder his whole career. His career averages are still at 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists, despite not having that explosion for some years now. Other quality players in this draft included Mike Bibby (No. 2) and Al Harrington (No. 25).
