What makes Scott such a weapon for the Hawks is the way that he can provide instant offense. When Scott comes in off the bench, he is capable of heating up in a hurry.

For a bench unit that wasn’t necessarily the strongest, there were games were they would come in and, in a large part due to Scott, stretch out a lead that the starters had built up. Scott’s streaky shooting, and explosive dunking ability can energize the crowd and turn a game on its head.

There was no better example of this than Scott’s cameo off the bench against the Indiana Pacers in Game 5 of their first-round series. In 23 minutes, Scott had 17 points, including five 3-pointers, and helped to push the Hawks out in front in the second quarter of a vitally important game.
