It may well be very early in Andre Drummond’s NBA career, but his selection with the ninth pick of the 2012 could prove to be the greatest masterstroke in Detroit Pistons history. After only two years in the league, Drummond already looks to be growing into one of the most dominant centers in basketball.

Having averaged over 13 points and 13 rebounds per game in only his second season, Drummond’s potential is colossal. In fact, as that shows, he’s already contributing at the highest level already. With new head coach Stan Van Gundy’s love for big time centers, it seems likely that Drummond will be the centerpiece of his Pistons team.

With both the fundamentals, and the attitude, to continue developing at a staggering pace, a whole host of teams will likely regret passing over the 20-year-old in the draft. Former general manager Joe Dumars made a lot of bad decisions during his time in charge of the Pistons, but Drummond could be the one to wipe many of them from Pistons fans’ memories.
